Mr. Derek S. Wooten

 

Welcome! I am Mr. Wooten, and I am thrilled to be your music and string orchestra teacher this year. With 15 years of experience teaching general music and leading string orchestras, I believe in creating a classroom where students feel inspired, encouraged, and excited to explore the world of music.

A little about me: I’ve been married to my wonderful wife, Stephanie, for 16 years. Together, we enjoy spending time in the great outdoors—camping, hiking, and exploring nature whenever we can. Our family also includes a few furry companions who keep us on our toes and bring us lots of joy!

My goal is to help students grow not only as musicians but as confident, creative individuals. Whether it’s through learning a new instrument, playing in an ensemble, or discovering the stories behind the music, I’m here to support each student's journey.

I can’t wait to get to know all of you and make this a fantastic year of music-making!
