Welcome to the 2023-2024 school year!

Please allow me to introduce myself.  My name is Robin Self.  I have been in the teaching profession for 15 years.  As part of those years, I have been a teacher, a teacher trainer, an assistant principal, and a district English Language Arts and Reading coordinator.  I received my Bachelor’s degree from Sul Ross State University and my Master’s degree from the University of Texas of the Permian Basin.

I am a wife and mother of four beautiful children.  Our oldest child lives in Houston and works for a major distribution company. Our second child is a Sergeant in the Marine Corps.  She and her husband, also a sergeant in the Marine Corps, are stationed overseas.  We welcomed our first grandchild in November 2022 and hope to finally hold her in December 2023.

Our two youngest also attend Midland Academy Charter School.  Our family enjoys watching movies, camping, fishing, and game nights.  We are part of Scouts of America and enjoy our many adventures. 

When there are quiet moments….I enjoy working on family genealogy (family history), crocheting, and learning how to make soap and candles.

Our teachers have high expectations of our students.  We value instilling intrinsic motivation and encouraging responsibility.  Our hope is to inspire our students to become life-long learners and to help build the next generation of great leaders and thinkers.
